We have different teaching programs that helps you to explore languages like Kinyarwanda, English, and French, and we also provide cultural activities such as drumming, weaving, farming, local cuisine experience and traditional dance, not forgetting reading session in our Kinyarwanda library for both kids and adults.
Kinyarwanda learning levels
Level 1 – Beginner
For learners starting from zero
This level introduces the foundations of Kinyarwanda through the four core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with a strong focus on correct pronunciation and basic communication.
By the end of Level 1, learners can:
- Use common greetings and polite expressions
- Introduce themselves confidently
- Talk about places, transportation, time, numbers, food, and shopping
- Ask and answer simple questions
- Hold short everyday conversations with minimal support
Vocabulary: ~500 basic words
Duration: 20 hours
Level 2 – Elementary
For learners with basic Kinyarwanda knowledge
Level 2 builds on the basics by introducing core grammar structures, expanded vocabulary, and more confident communication across all four skills.
By the end of Level 2, learners can:
- Use basic grammar and simple tenses
- Read and write longer texts and stories
- Communicate more clearly in daily situations
- Understand and participate in simple conversations
Vocabulary: ~1,000 words
Duration: 30 hours
Level 3 – Intermediate
For learners ready to speak with confidence
This level focuses on complex sentence construction, deeper grammar, and fluent expression. Learners strengthen their understanding of noun classes and multiple tenses.
By the end of Level 3, learners can:
- Use noun classes correctly
- Apply at least five basic tenses
Form complex sentences using verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions - Write longer stories and dialogues
- Understand extended conversations and discussions
Vocabulary: ~5,000 words
Duration: 40 hours
Level 4 – Advanced
For independent and fluent speakers
Level 4 is designed for learners who can already communicate confidently and want full professional and cultural fluency.
By the end of Level 4, learners can:
- Lead and sustain complex conversations in Kinyarwanda
- Conduct interviews and give speeches
- Read and understand news content in Kinyarwanda
- Translate long documents between English and Kinyarwanda
- Interpret conversations between Kinyarwanda and other languages
- Write extended texts and books in Kinyarwanda
Duration: 60 hours
Sindumurishyo
Immerse yourself in Rwandan culture and values through vibrant traditional activities such as drumming and dancing through a weekly sessions at Tea House Restaurant on every Thursday. Join us for the vibrant cultural experience.
Weaving and local cuisine experience
For more culture exploring and traditional activities we invite you to try one of the Rwandans' economic activity which is weaving and also enjoy the taste of our local cusine after preparing the meals with us, you also get a chance to weave your own mat or other product of your preference.
Dusome
With our library at the center, we help you explore the Rwanda's history, cultural heritage, and traditional activities through Kinyarwandan books that gives you every experience through stories and facts. They are both for adults and young children, filling gaps in Kinyarwandan reading materials.
